Whether a customer buys from you fundamentally depends on two factors: importance and urgency.
Is the problem currently important enough to the customer that they're actually dealing with it? If they have other, more important things on their agenda, they'll deal with those first, and only get to you afterward, if at all.
Does the customer want the problem solved as quickly as possible? If the problem is important but not urgent, they'll happily push the decision to next quarter or the one after, and you won't get your shot.
For every potential customer, ask yourself: is my solution currently both important and urgent for them? Only when both are true is the timing for outreach actually right.
